Description
A sweet and savory sandwich filled with ham, turkey, and cheese, dipped in a rich egg batter and grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 0.25 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 4 slices ham
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
- 0.5 cup milk
- 4 slices Challah bread
- 4 slices turkey breast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.25 cup raspberry jam
Instructions
- Step 1: In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Step 2: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Step 3: Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Step 4: Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Step 5: Top with a slice of ham, a slice of turkey, and a slice of cheese.
- Step 6: Spread a layer of raspberry jam on top of the cheese.
- Step 7: Place another slice of bread, butter-side up, on top of the filling.
- Step 8: Dip the sandwich in the egg batter, coating both sides evenly.
- Step 9: Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Step 10: Repeat with remaining ingredients.
