Description

A savory hamburger steak smothered in sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
  • 8 oz Button Mushrooms
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 0.5 cup Onion
  • 2 slices Swiss Cheese

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together Ground Beef, chopped Onion, minced Garlic, Salt, and Black Pepper
  3. Step 3: Form the mixture into 2 hamburger steaks
  4. Step 4: Heat 1 tablespoon of Butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  5. Step 5: Sear the hamburger steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, then transfer to a baking sheet
  6. Step 6: In the same skillet, sauté the sliced Mushrooms in the remaining 1 tablespoon of Butter until tender
  7. Step 7: Pour in Beef Broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits
  8. Step 8: Place the hamburger steaks in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until cooked to desired doneness
  9. Step 9: Top each hamburger steak with a slice of Swiss Cheese and return to the oven for an additional 1-2 minutes or until melted
  10. Step 10: Serve the hamburger steaks with sautéed Mushrooms spooned over the top
