Description
A savory hamburger steak smothered in sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese
Ingredients
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
- 8 oz Button Mushrooms
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Beef Broth
- 0.5 cup Onion
- 2 slices Swiss Cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
- Step 2: In a large bowl, mix together Ground Beef, chopped Onion, minced Garlic, Salt, and Black Pepper
- Step 3: Form the mixture into 2 hamburger steaks
- Step 4: Heat 1 tablespoon of Butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
- Step 5: Sear the hamburger steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, then transfer to a baking sheet
- Step 6: In the same skillet, sauté the sliced Mushrooms in the remaining 1 tablespoon of Butter until tender
- Step 7: Pour in Beef Broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits
- Step 8: Place the hamburger steaks in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until cooked to desired doneness
- Step 9: Top each hamburger steak with a slice of Swiss Cheese and return to the oven for an additional 1-2 minutes or until melted
- Step 10: Serve the hamburger steaks with sautéed Mushrooms spooned over the top
