Description
A classic Indonesian fried rice dish, often served with a fried egg and fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons scallions
- 2 cups rice
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 small onion
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kecap manis
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup mixed vegetables
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Add diced onion and minced garlic and stir-fry until they are translucent.
- Step 3: Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Step 4: Add cooked rice to the wok or frying pan, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.
- Step 5: Stir-fry the rice with the vegetables for about 5 minutes, or until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Step 6: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, kecap manis, salt, and pepper to the rice mixture and stir-fry for another minute.
- Step 7: Push the rice mixture to one side of the wok or frying pan.
- Step 8: Add a little more oil to the empty side of the wok or frying pan, then pour in the beaten eggs.
- Step 9: Scramble the eggs until they are cooked through, breaking them up into small pieces as they cook.
- Step 10: Mix the eggs with the rice mixture.
- Step 11: Transfer the Nasi Goreng to a serving platter and garnish with chopped scallions.
