Description

A creamy spinach curry with Indian cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions
  • 250 g paneer
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 200 g spinach leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Blanch the spinach leaves in boiling water for 2 minutes, then puree in a blender.
  2. Step 2: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onions until they are lightly browned.
  3. Step 3: Add the cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic, and sauté for another minute.
  4. Step 4: Add the spinach puree, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Step 5: Add the paneer cubes and mix gently.
  6. Step 6: In a small bowl, mix the flour and water to make a smooth paste. Add the paste to the spinach mixture and mix well.
  7. Step 7: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until the paneer is fully coated with the spinach sauce.
  8. Step 8: Stir in the butter until melted.
  9. Step 9: Serve hot.
