Description
A creamy spinach curry with Indian cheese
Ingredients
- 2 medium onions
- 250 g paneer
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 medium ginger
- 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 200 g spinach leaves
- 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
Instructions
- Step 1: Blanch the spinach leaves in boiling water for 2 minutes, then puree in a blender.
- Step 2: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onions until they are lightly browned.
- Step 3: Add the cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic, and sauté for another minute.
- Step 4: Add the spinach puree, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Step 5: Add the paneer cubes and mix gently.
- Step 6: In a small bowl, mix the flour and water to make a smooth paste. Add the paste to the spinach mixture and mix well.
- Step 7: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until the paneer is fully coated with the spinach sauce.
- Step 8: Stir in the butter until melted.
- Step 9: Serve hot.
