A flavorful and savory dish featuring seared ahi tuna steak glazed with a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, and brown sugar
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic
- 0.5 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp ginger
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
- 4 6 oz ahi tuna steaks
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Step 2: In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes
- Step 3: Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper
- Step 4: Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes per side, then transfer the skillet to the preheated oven
- Step 5: Bake the tuna steaks for 8-10 minutes, or until cooked to desired level of doneness
- Step 6: Brush the soy-ginger glaze over the tuna steaks during the last 2 minutes of cooking
- Step 7: Remove the skillet from the oven and drizzle with sesame oil
