Description

Traditional Chinese dumplings filled with pork and vegetables, pan-seared to a crispy bottom and served with a dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 cup cabbage
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.5 cup scallions
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  2. Step 2: Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Step 3: Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a small egg.
  4. Step 4: Roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle.
  5. Step 5: Place a tablespoon of pork filling in the center of each dough circle.
  6. Step 6: Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal the potsticker.
  7. Step 7: Heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  8. Step 8: When the oil is hot, add the potstickers and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  9. Step 9: Serve the potstickers hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
