Description

A classic New York-style deli sandwich featuring tender pastrami, crunchy pickles, and creamy mustard on toasted rye bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pastrami
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup dill pickles
  • 0.25 cup deli mustard
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Step 2: Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Step 3: Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, on the griddle.
  4. Step 4: Top each slice with a layer of pastrami, a dollop of mustard, and a few slices of pickle.
  5. Step 5: Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up.
  6. Step 6: Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the pastrami is heated through.
  7. Step 7: Carefully flip the sandwiches over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the other side is also golden brown.
