Description
A classic sandwich featuring pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, grilled to perfection
Ingredients
- 1 lb pastrami
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 cup sauerkraut
- 8 slices rye bread
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat a griddle or skillet to medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
- Step 3: Spread a layer of Dijon mustard on the unbuttered side of 4 slices of rye bread.
- Step 4: Top each slice with a slice of Swiss cheese, a few slices of pastrami, and a spoonful of sauerkraut.
- Step 5: Top with the remaining slices of rye bread, buttered side up.
- Step 6: Grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on the first side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Step 7: Flip the sandwiches over and grill for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the other side is also golden brown.
- Step 8: Serve immediately and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
