Description

A classic sandwich featuring pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, grilled to perfection

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pastrami
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat a griddle or skillet to medium-high heat.
  2. Step 2: Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Step 3: Spread a layer of Dijon mustard on the unbuttered side of 4 slices of rye bread.
  4. Step 4: Top each slice with a slice of Swiss cheese, a few slices of pastrami, and a spoonful of sauerkraut.
  5. Step 5: Top with the remaining slices of rye bread, buttered side up.
  6. Step 6: Grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on the first side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Step 7: Flip the sandwiches over and grill for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the other side is also golden brown.
  8. Step 8: Serve immediately and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
