Classic Philly-style sandwich filled with tender steak, melted cheese, and sautéed onions on a hoagie roll

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Slice the ribeye steak into thin strips
  2. Step 2: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  3. Step 3: Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to desired doneness
  4. Step 4: Transfer the steak to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm
  5. Step 5: Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened and translucent
