Description
A creative twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, wrapped in a crispy egg roll pastry.
Ingredients
- 1 package egg roll wrappers
- 0.5 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 pound ribeye steak
- Salt and pepper
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 large onion
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F.
- Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 5 minutes.
- Step 3: Add sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Step 4: In a large bowl, combine cooked steak and onion mixture, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and soy sauce. Mix well.
- Step 5: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the steak and cheese mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Step 6: Brush edges of the wrapper with water and fold the bottom half up, then fold in the sides and roll up the wrapper to form a tight cylinder. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Step 7: Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Step 8: Serve hot and enjoy!
