Description
A traditional Hawaiian dish featuring fresh, raw fish and flavorful toppings
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup green onions
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 cup Japanese rice
- Salt and pepper
- 0.25 cup sesame seeds
- 0.5 cup carrots
- 500 g tuna
- 0.5 cup cucumber
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the sushi rice according to package instructions and set aside
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, and grated ginger
- Step 3: Add the tuna pieces to the bowl and marinate for at least 10 minutes
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix together diced cucumber, carrots, and green onions
- Step 5: To assemble the poke bowls, place a scoop of sushi rice in the bottom of a bowl
- Step 6: Add a portion of the marinated tuna on top of the rice
- Step 7: Spoon the cucumber and carrot mixture over the tuna
- Step 8: Sprinkle sesame seeds and salt and pepper to taste
