Description

A traditional Hawaiian dish featuring fresh, raw fish and flavorful toppings

Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup green onions
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 cup Japanese rice
  • Salt and pepper
  • 0.25 cup sesame seeds
  • 0.5 cup carrots
  • 500 g tuna
  • 0.5 cup cucumber
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the sushi rice according to package instructions and set aside
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, and grated ginger
  3. Step 3: Add the tuna pieces to the bowl and marinate for at least 10 minutes
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix together diced cucumber, carrots, and green onions
  5. Step 5: To assemble the poke bowls, place a scoop of sushi rice in the bottom of a bowl
  6. Step 6: Add a portion of the marinated tuna on top of the rice
  7. Step 7: Spoon the cucumber and carrot mixture over the tuna
  8. Step 8: Sprinkle sesame seeds and salt and pepper to taste
