Description
Tender pulled pork shoulder, served on a toasted bun with tangy coleslaw and pickles
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 0.25 cup barbecue rub
- 4 hamburger buns
- 0.5 cup dill pickle slices
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 cup coleslaw
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C)
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together barbecue rub, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper
- Step 3: Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to coat it evenly
- Step 4: Place the pork shoulder in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot, fat side up
- Step 5: Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven
- Step 6: Braise the pork for 6 hours, or until it is tender and easily shreds with a fork
- Step 7: Remove the pot from the oven and let it cool slightly
- Step 8: Shred the pork with two forks and stir in mayonnaise
- Step 9: Split the hamburger buns in half and toast them
- Step 10: Assemble the sliders by spooning the pulled pork onto the buns, followed by a dollop of coleslaw and a few slices of pickle
