Description
A sweet and savory twist on the classic Monte Cristo, featuring raspberry jam and melted brie cheese
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 2 oz turkey breast
- 4 slices Challah bread
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 2 oz ham
- 2 oz brie cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 0.25 cup raspberry jam
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat
- Step 2: Butter one side of each slice of bread
- Step 3: On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread a layer of raspberry jam
- Step 4: Top the jam with a slice of brie cheese, a few slices of ham, and a few slices of turkey breast
- Step 5: Top with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side up
- Step 6: Dip the sandwiches in the beaten egg, then coat in a mixture of sugar, salt, and pepper
- Step 7: Place the sandwiches on the griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy
