Description
Aromatic and flavorful rice dish infused with saffron and spices
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 0.5 cup saffron threads
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 small onion
- 2 cloves garlic
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat
- Step 2: Add onion and cook until translucent, 3-4 minutes
- Step 3: Add garlic, cumin, coriander, and turmeric. Cook for 1 minute
- Step 4: Add rice and stir to coat with oil and mix with spices
- Step 5: Add water and soaked saffron. Bring to a boil
- Step 6: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until water is absorbed
