Description
A classic roasted turkey recipe with a savory blend of sage and onion
Ingredients
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 whole turkey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sage leaves
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 medium onions
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Step 2: Rinse the turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped sage, thyme, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Step 4: Rub the mixture all over the turkey, making sure to get some under the skin as well.
- Step 5: Stuff the turkey cavity with the remaining onion mixture.
- Step 6: Place the turkey in a roasting pan and put it in the oven.
- Step 7: Roast the turkey for about 4-4 1/2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Step 8: Baste the turkey with the melted butter every 30 minutes.
- Step 9: When the turkey is done, let it rest for 30 minutes before carving and serving.
