Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole turkey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sage leaves
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 medium onions

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Step 2: Rinse the turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, combine the chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped sage, thyme, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Step 4: Rub the mixture all over the turkey, making sure to get some under the skin as well.
  5. Step 5: Stuff the turkey cavity with the remaining onion mixture.
  6. Step 6: Place the turkey in a roasting pan and put it in the oven.
  7. Step 7: Roast the turkey for about 4-4 1/2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Step 8: Baste the turkey with the melted butter every 30 minutes.
  9. Step 9: When the turkey is done, let it rest for 30 minutes before carving and serving.
