Description
A classic Italian-style pizza topped with savory sausage and melted mozzarella cheese
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.5 cups water
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 onion
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C)
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes
- Step 3: Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms
- Step 4: Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth
- Step 5: Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch
- Step 6: Transfer the dough to a greased pizza pan
- Step 7: In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 5-7 minutes
- Step 8: Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened
- Step 9: Spread marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch border
- Step 10: Top with cooked sausage mixture, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese
- Step 11: Bake for 18-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly
