Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound shrimp
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 onion
  • 0.25 cup cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
  • 2 tablespoons palm sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 0.25 cup peanuts
  • Salt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 0.5 cup rice noodles

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. Step 2: Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Step 3: Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  5. Step 5: Add the shrimp and cook, stirring constantly, until pink and just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Step 6: In a small bowl, whisk together the tamarind paste, palm sugar, fish sauce, and soy sauce.
