Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 pound beef brisket
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups cabbage

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat smoker to 225°F (110°C)
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder
  3. Step 3: Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, making sure to coat it evenly
  4. Step 4: Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up, and close the lid
  5. Step 5: Smoke the brisket for 4-5 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C)
  6. Step 6: While the brisket is smoking, mix together the coleslaw ingredients in a large bowl
  7. Step 7: After 4-5 hours, brush the brisket with BBQ sauce and continue to smoke for another 30 minutes
  8. Step 8: Remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain
  9. Step 9: Serve the sliced brisket on a platter with the coleslaw on the side
