Description
A tender and flavorful smoked brisket platter with a tangy BBQ sauce and crunchy coleslaw
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 pound beef brisket
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups cabbage
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat smoker to 225°F (110°C)
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder
- Step 3: Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, making sure to coat it evenly
- Step 4: Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up, and close the lid
- Step 5: Smoke the brisket for 4-5 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C)
- Step 6: While the brisket is smoking, mix together the coleslaw ingredients in a large bowl
- Step 7: After 4-5 hours, brush the brisket with BBQ sauce and continue to smoke for another 30 minutes
- Step 8: Remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain
- Step 9: Serve the sliced brisket on a platter with the coleslaw on the side
