Ingredients
- 1 pound sweet sausage
- 0.75 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 3: Cut cold butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 4: Add buttermilk and stir until dough comes together in a shaggy mass.
- Step 5: Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead 2-3 times until it comes together.
- Step 6: Roll dough out to 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds.
- Step 7: Gather scraps, re-roll dough, and cut out additional biscuits.
