Description
A popular snack in Hawaiian cuisine, Spam musubi is a block of rice topped with a slice of fried Spam, all wrapped in nori seaweed.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup short-grain Japanese rice
- 1 sheet nori seaweed
- 1 cup water
- 0.5 cup rice vinegar
- 1 can Spam
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the sushi rice according to the package instructions using 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
- Step 2: Cut the Spam into 1-inch thick slices and pan-fry until golden brown.
- Step 3: Shape the cooked rice into a rectangular block.
- Step 4: Place a slice of fried Spam on top of the rice block.
- Step 5: Cut a sheet of nori seaweed to the desired size and wrap it around the rice and Spam.
- Step 6: Serve and enjoy!
