Description

A hearty, spicy stew made with ground beef, beans, and tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 medium-hot red chili peppers
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat
  2. Step 2: Add onion and cook until browned, about 5 minutes
  3. Step 3: Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
  4. Step 4: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks
  5. Step 5: Add chili peppers, cumin, chili powder, and cayenne pepper, cook for 1 minute
  6. Step 6: Stir in diced tomatoes and beans, bring to a simmer
  7. Step 7: Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 20 minutes
  8. Step 8: Season with salt and pepper to taste
