Description
A hearty, spicy stew made with ground beef, beans, and tomatoes
Ingredients
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 large onion
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 can red kidney beans
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper
- 500 g ground beef
- 2 medium-hot red chili peppers
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3 cloves garlic
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat
- Step 2: Add onion and cook until browned, about 5 minutes
- Step 3: Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
- Step 4: Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks
- Step 5: Add chili peppers, cumin, chili powder, and cayenne pepper, cook for 1 minute
- Step 6: Stir in diced tomatoes and beans, bring to a simmer
- Step 7: Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 20 minutes
- Step 8: Season with salt and pepper to taste
