Description

Crispy fried chicken wings tossed in a sweet and spicy Korean-inspired sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup gochujang sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  3. Step 3: Pour the buttermilk into a separate large bowl
  4. Step 4: Dredge the chicken wings in the flour mixture, then dip in the buttermilk, and finally coat in the flour mixture again
  5. Step 5: Place the coated wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  6. Step 6: Drizzle the wings with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and toss to coat
  7. Step 7: Bake the wings for 25-30 minutes, or until crispy
  8. Step 8: While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce by whisking together the gochujang sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl
