Description
Crispy fried chicken wings tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.25 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 0.5 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 pounds chicken wings
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper
- Step 3: Pour the buttermilk into a separate large bowl
- Step 4: Dredge the chicken wings in the flour mixture, shaking off excess
- Step 5: Dip the floured wings in the buttermilk, making sure they are fully coated
- Step 6: Dredge the wings in the flour mixture again, pressing the coating onto the wings to adhere
- Step 7: Carefully place the coated wings in the hot oil and fry for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy
- Step 8: In a small saucepan, combine the sweet chili sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes
- Step 9: Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes, or until thickened
- Step 10: Remove the wings from the oil and place them in a large bowl
- Step 11: Pour the sweet and spicy sauce over the wings and toss to coat
- Step 12: Serve immediately and enjoy!
