Taco Pizza with Doritos Crust

Description
A unique twist on traditional pizza, featuring a crunchy Doritos crust, savory taco meat, and melted cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 0.5 cup Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 0.25 cup tomatoes
- 1 jalapeno pepper
- 0.5 cup bell pepper
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 1 bag Doritos Nacho Cheese flavored chips
- 2 cloves garlic
- 0.5 cup onion
- 0.25 cup cilantro
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: Crush Doritos chips in a food processor until fine crumbs form.
- Step 3: In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking into small pieces as it cooks.
- Step 4: Add diced onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno to the skillet and cook until vegetables are soft.
- Step 5: Add garlic and taco seasoning to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
- Step 6: Stir in pizza sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let sauce simmer while you prepare the crust.
- Step 7: In a large bowl, mix together crushed Doritos and 1/4 cup of the taco meat sauce until well combined.
- Step 8: Press the Doritos mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Step 9: Spread the remaining taco meat sauce over the crust.
- Step 10: Top with shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Step 11: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Step 12: Remove from oven and top with chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, and any additional desired toppings.
