Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 medium-hot dried Ancho Chilies
  • 0.25 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 3 cloves Garlic

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
  2. Step 2: Once the beef is browned, add the diced onion and cook until it is translucent.
  3. Step 3: Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Add the ancho chilies, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Step 5: Stir in the diced tomatoes and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh cilantro or scallions if desired.
