Description

Classic roasted turkey with savory stuffing and delicious gravy

Ingredients

  • 2 stalks celery
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups bread
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 whole turkey
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 2 cups turkey gravy
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Step 2: Rinse the turkey and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Step 3: In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion, garlic, and celery in butter until tender.
  4. Step 4: In a large bowl, combine the bread, sautéed vegetables, herbs, spices, salt, and pepper.
  5. Step 5: Stuff the turkey loosely with the bread mixture.
  6. Step 6: Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour in the chicken broth.
  7. Step 7: Roast the turkey for about 4-4 1/2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Step 8: Baste the turkey with melted butter every 30 minutes.
  9. Step 9: Let the turkey rest for 30 minutes before carving.
