Ingredients
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cups flour
- 6 cloves garlic
- 0.5 cups water
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons yeast
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until yeast is activated.
- Step 3: Add olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the bowl. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Step 4: Gradually add the remaining cup of flour, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
- Step 5: Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes shiny and elastic.
- Step 6: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Step 7: Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Step 8: Roll each piece into a long rope and twist it into a breadstick shape. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 9: Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and minced garlic.
- Step 10: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
