Description
Spicy Indian curry dish made with marinated meat cooked in a flavorful tomato-based sauce
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 medium tomato
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree
- 500 g pork
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 2 medium onions
- 2 dried red Kashmiri chilies
- 0.5 teaspoon turmeric
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ghee or vegetable oil
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Marinate the meat in a mixture of vinegar, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes
- Step 2: Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat and sauté the onions until they are lightly browned
- Step 3: Add the garlic and sauté for another minute
- Step 4: Add the marinated meat and cook until it is browned on all sides
- Step 5: Add the diced tomato, tomato puree, crushed red chilies or red pepper flakes, and 1/2 cup of water
- Step 6: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the meat is cooked through
- Step 7: Serve hot garnished with fresh cilantro or scallions
