Ingredients

  • 1 tsp White vinegar
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (180°C)
  2. Step 2: Peel the potatoes and cut them into long, thin waffle strips
  3. Step 3: Soak the potato strips in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch
  4. Step 4: Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture
  5. Step 5: In a large bowl, mix together salt, sugar, and vinegar
  6. Step 6: Add the potato strips to the bowl and toss to coat with the seasoning mixture
  7. Step 7: Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan
  8. Step 8: Fry for 3-4 minutes or until the fries are golden brown
  9. Step 9: Remove the fries from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil
  10. Step 10: Serve hot and enjoy!
