Description
Crispy waffle-cut fries cooked to a golden brown
Ingredients
- 1 tsp White vinegar
- 0.5 cup Water
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 cup Vegetable oil
- 2 lbs Russet potatoes
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F (180°C)
- Step 2: Peel the potatoes and cut them into long, thin waffle strips
- Step 3: Soak the potato strips in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch
- Step 4: Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture
- Step 5: In a large bowl, mix together salt, sugar, and vinegar
- Step 6: Add the potato strips to the bowl and toss to coat with the seasoning mixture
- Step 7: Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan
- Step 8: Fry for 3-4 minutes or until the fries are golden brown
- Step 9: Remove the fries from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil
- Step 10: Serve hot and enjoy!
